Post-audit, Part Three.
Thankfully the BG post was likely to be the largest (I hope!) so now I'm moving onto Dragonball Z.
My small collection of DBZ characters that I consider exclusively mine are character twists from three main plot bunnies I got pounced by when I was in the fandom. These three rabid rabbits can be given the names of their significant unique characters, Mirai Bra, Mirai Vegito and Toma Briefs.
If anyone who reads this has prior knowledge of DBZ and GT, please note, for the most part I do not acknowledge any of the DBGT plots as I find them annoying. That does not however prevent me from using general character info from GT, I have always said that I pick and choose canon in LotR and I have done as much even back during my time in DBZ.
Second point: I came to the DBZ fandom before GT was translated so I have preferences where character name translations are concerned, such as "Ubuu" instead of "Uub" and particularly "Bra" instead of the more recent "Bulla". The latter also has an issue of naming puns that are common in DBZ that I like to remember.
Mirai Bra
In canon!DBZ a teenage kid appears, fights the evil alien bastard Frieza and his daddy King Cold and hangs around just long enough to greet Goku when he arrives back on Earth and have a quick chat. Said kid reveals to Goku (and Piccolo's sensitive hearing) that he's the future child of Bulma and Vegeta and that Goku is going to die of a heart disease and almost everyone else is going to be killed by a pair of killer androids.
Back before I got into slash I was reading a fic that was a slight AU on the whole Android Saga and got thinking how would it have been if it wasn't Trunks who turned up but someone else? Already knowing enough about extended filial relations in the series I substituted Bra (Trunks' little sister) into the role and started thinking up reasoning to make that work.
The story as it came to be is that Dr. Gero - the creator of the androids has an alliance with some aliens with an interest in getting rid of the remaining saiyans (given that the last two pure-blooded saiyans living are Goku and Vegeta). Gero promises them his ultimate creation if they help him take over Earth and they agree and produce a virus that targets saiyans.
So when Frieza and Cold come visit Earth it's a girl with blue hair who wipes them out (not a boy with lavender hair) - a girl who reveals to Goku that she's Vegeta and Bulma's daughter. She leaves Goku with medicine, both for his heart problem and for the virus.
Later she comes back again to help in the fighting when the androids turn up but the aliens turn up, having found out that Gero's "ultimate creation" Cell needs the two androids, 17 and 18, to reach his full potential. The androids are thoroughly unimpressed that they are nothing more than spare parts and take sides with the Z warriors, along with 16, their fellow android.
Somewhere along the line another player from MB's timeline turns up, [Mirai] Goten, younger son of Goku and Chichi and an almost inseparable friend of MB's brother before he got killed.
I ended up doing a whole stack of juggling of roles in the Cells Game to fit everyone in but I managed it and still kept the basic track of canon events intact too.
Corseta
I made Corseta for an RPG that was started on Y!Groups but never really played her in it due my own problems understanding Y!group RPGs.
Corseta was based on the MB AU, she was the daughter of the Trunks in MB's timeline and the android 18 (it's more accurate to say that they were cyborgs though and canon!18 later had a daughter in the series).
Corseta lives mostly under the watchful eye of her aunty Bra and uncle Goten.
Mirai Vegito
Honestly, MV was the height of my saiyan obsession, I mean a fusion between Goku and Vegeta? When I really started finding decent pictures of him I took a major fondness to him that watching the episodes he appears in only cemented. Seriously, the one where he bashes up Buu while he's a candy is just great!
To a lesser extent I also liked Gogeta, the second version of the fusion of Goku and Vegeta. It's probably only the sort of nitpicking serious fangirls would do but they aren't the same, they don't look completely the same and the manner of fusion they come from is different - Gogeta comes from the fusion dance, Vegito comes from the Potara earrings.
MV was probably inspired a bit by Xero Sky's fic Trinity, in which Vegito's fusion never got dissolved and after suffering through his family's weirded-out reactions makes a wish on the Great Dragon and gets sent back in time to change history. The result was that he got stuck in that timeline. I only read something like 4 chapters of that fic, Xero was so damn slow with it.
The general idea of MV of course underwent some fair amount of twisting getting time travel tossed into the mix and making him Mirai (Future) Vegito.
The general gist of MV's story is that some time far in the future there's a really dangerous bad guy named Cronal wanting to control not only the universe but time and all of reality too. The remnant saiyans - in other words, Goku, Vegeta and their respective children - all fight.
Things don't go well however, Goku and Vegeta having to resort to fusion to have enough power to fight Cronal and even then, needing help from Kai Shin and the Old Kai in the form of a pair of earrings like the Potaras but not as powerful as they are made especially to stabilize fusions created from the Fusion Dance thereby making them last longer than just a half-hour.
Even with this boon however, Gogeta, the fusion resulted, is still not strong enough to come out with more than a sour stalemate with Cronal and the enemy is already seeking a way to gain that just a bit more power to beat Gogeta. The saiyans are forced into a final choice, to use the Potaras and live with a fusion that this time will likely never be broken like it was with Buu. They accept the consequences however and Vegito has the power needed to finally end Cronal but the results are bittersweet at best as the destruction caused by the war against him has left Vegito's universe in ruins.
Vegito is not the only one dismayed at such destruction though, the entities that control reality, beings even the kais consider gods and the ones Cronal was trying to usurp, decide this series of events should be erased from existence all together and personally ask Vegito to be their tool in doing such, asking him to travel back in time, prevent Cronal from ever rising and thereby giving them a timeline to replace the one they intend to obliterate. Vegito, not having anything left to hold him to his home timeline - all his family having been killed along the way - agrees to this plan and is sent back in time.
The time period he is sent to is one just after Bulma has died, and Goku and Vegeta have become involved with each other. The two saiyans are suspicious of the fusion to start with but tentatively accept him, coming to accept him more when he not only predicts disturbances but helps them fight them.
Along the way though these enemies prove troublesome enough to warrant Goku and Vegeta fusing (on top of Trunks and Goten doing so) and Vegito hands over the stabilizing earrings to Gogeta so he can stay fused in the fight. Afterwards though Gogeta decides he wants to try staying fused for a while and keeps the earrings.
Vegito starts spending time with Gogeta and they become friends.
The fusion issue with Gogeta gets a bit of a wake-up call three months after Gogeta's decision when one of the earrings gets pulled off and the fusion dissolves. Goku and Vegeta are in a state of terrible exhaustion once out of the resulting fusion and are forced to rest for three weeks. The conclusion is drawn that the strain of being artificially kept in a fusion that would normally dissolve after an hour could be decidedly detrimental. The earrings after all were only made to sustain fusion for the duration of one fight, not for a long-term period like Gogeta had been spending.
During this time Vegito starts getting moody, missing Gogeta's company.
At a point after Goku and Vegeta have recovered another fight warrants them fusing again and Gogeta putting the earrings to use again but he promises this time to allow for some down-time for his constituent parts to recover.
Having Gogeta back again after the weeks of downtime unfused makes Vegito realise his feelings for the other fusion are more, and they get involved in a serious romantic relationship.
The quest carries on and they find the child who would eventually become Cronal and take him into protective custody to prevent him from growing up as he did in Vegito's timeline. The enemy, those who had also seen the boy's potential and were starting to groom him to be their puppet, want him back and fight the saiyans to get him.
In a situation almost identical to what happened before, Gogeta again loses and earring but this time the thief destroys it, thereby preventing it from being used again, and also crippling Gogeta to stints of only a half-hour at a time fused. Thankfully, for that fight at least, Goku and Vegeta aren't suffering the exhaustion they had before and can still fight, thereby, with Vegito on their side, are able to take victory.
The after-affect of losing the earring is more personal, with Vegito going into a brooding depression, being of the opinion that without the earrings there is no real chance for him and Gogeta, with Gogeta only being able to be present for a half-hour at a time and then Goku and Vegeta needing a whole hour's downtime before fusing again.
Goku and Vegeta meanwhile are left in a situation where they have to deal with not only Vegito's depression but their own complicated feelings as Gogeta's constituent parts. They come to the difficult decision to find a way of permanently restoring Gogeta, at the cost of losing their own individual lives, not to mention the effect it will have on their family.
After letting the family know what they're doing they go hunting the dragonballs, fuse, and wish for the fusion to be made permanent.
Gogeta finally heads home and he and Vegito can now be together properly, for the rest of their lives.
There was one point where I decided that MV's universe wouldn't have all my favourite slashy pairings, instead allowing for everyone to be paired, even if it meant going with couples I was not nearly so in favour of.
The pairings I eventually attributed to it became: Goku/Vegeta (before Gogeta fused permanently), Vegito/Gogeta, Trunks/Goten, Bra/Ubuu, Pan/Mirai Trunks, Gohan+Piccolo.
The last of those has some issues as I have never been in favour of sexualising Piccolo, hell, the anime says that Nameks (Piccolo's race) don't have females and they reproduce by eggs that are brought up the throat and spat out the mouth.
First off, yes, Gohan was married. Somewhere along the plotline Videl gets killed and Gohan goes into grieving for her. He finds some solace in the company of his old teacher, Piccolo and ends up relocating to Dende's palace, where Piccolo lives.
There is not a sexual element to the relationship between Gohan and Piccolo, it's just another stage in a lifelong friendship.
As it stands now, MV and Gogeta are heads of their household, getting occasional interdimesional visits from other timelines, like Mirai Bra's. Gogeta went through a dose of mpreg and has recovered, with a son to show for it.
Their household keeps itself mostly separate from the rest of §trange, mainly because of Hyperbole's thing for pulling tails, and given that saiyan tails are very sensitive and everyone in the household now has theirs restored, well Hyper has a bad reputation there.
Toma Briefs
Toma was yet another solution to the Mirai plot when an idea of mine total vetoed Bulma and Vegeta ever getting together. The plot was originally based around keeping Goku's father, Bardock alive. I even wrote out most of the basic plot and am giving it here, as follows:
Once upon a time there was a saiyan warrior with a background in science & a terrible predilection of forgetting details of his personal life by the name of Bardock. In most dimensions he died hopelessly defending his homeworld, Vejiitasei, from the space-tyrant Frieza.
This dimension he didn't.
Bardock's crew were sent to clear the planet Kanassa. With a full moon the job was easy. Next morning while they sat chattering a few surviving Kanassa-jin attacked them. One Kanassa-jin, the last one standing, managed to get a strike in on Bardock, a strike that left Bardock in a coma.
The team rushed back to Vejiitasei but the other four, Celipa, Totepo, Panboukin & Toma, had to move out on another purging mission. To planet Meat.
Bardock wakes from his disturbed time in a regen tank & immediately heads off to join them only briefly pausing to see his infant son Kakarott.
As you can see though, I never finished it, but the basic points are there.
The Oozaru Plot
This was something that came up not long before I totally drifted out of DBZ, a very basic plot bunny for an incest story, set some time not long after the end of the whole Majin Buu saga.
Vegeta and Goku were secretly planning to moon-bond - at least Vegeta was planning, and probably keeping Goku somewhat in the dark about it. In doing so, both of them already have their tails back and are only waiting out the next full moon.
Chi-chi, being worried about Goku being out late with his tail restored and all, sends Gohan out to find him. This turns out to be totally the wrong thing to do, as the moon is already up and Goku under it's effect, having gone through the Oozaru state (giant King Kong-like violent rampaging monkey) out the other side into SSJ4. Goku is still however in a mating frenzy and Gohan, unfortunately, is the only partially saiyan person in the area and becomes his father's target.
Under the effect of moonlight and rampant pheromones by the next morning Goku and Gohan are bond to each other.
This understandably would cause major problems due to:
(1) The distress of parent and child being tied together as mates.
(2) Having to deal with how it affects Goku's marriage to Chi-chi.
(3) Vegeta had been planning to claim Goku himself, but was lost out to Gohan.
Beyond that, I didn't consider the thought much further.
In the end though, the saiyans I count as exclusively my versions are Mirai Bra, Mirai Goten, Corseta, Mirai Vegito and his Goggie and Toma, whether it be chibi or Mirai Toma, though the saiyans who inhabit §trange include versions of the others who are their respective families.
Thankfully the BG post was likely to be the largest (I hope!) so now I'm moving onto Dragonball Z.

- Meat, SSJ, blackout, Vejiitasei lost.
* Landing on Meat Bardock goes looking for his crew only to find them dead or dying. Their murderer becomes evident very quickly, Dodoria, Frieza's right-hand lard-ball. Between the grief of losing four friends closer to him than family, mind-numbing visions of destruction, death & the inevitable future & Dodoria's boasting that Frieza is going to wipe out the saiyan race Bardock loses it & turns SSj. Bardock kills Dodoria & his men but the SSj powers are out-of-control & unstable. Bardock collapses unconscious.
When Bardock wakes he heads back to Vejiitasei only to find the planet destroyed. An asteroid collides with his pod damaging it & sending it spinning out of control. - Rebels, lost hope, lost son.
* Drifting through space, all hope lost Bardock is intercepted by a freighter. The freighter drops him off on Abalthyn, a commercial world, where he starts putting his fortune earned from purging to the effort of getting himself so drunk he can't think. Drunken raving gets to the ears of certain people & Bardock is grabbed & taken to see the local head of the rebellion against Ice-jin dominion. Bardock joins the rebels & quickly becomes an important member due to his precog.
The rebel's main mission, due to none having the power to directly challenge Frieza, is to warn worlds of purging & where possible sent fighters to defend them.
As time moves Bardock hears of a few other surviving saiyans, Nappa, Vegeta & Radditz. Bardock is forced to accept that his eldest son & his prince are a lost cause since they serve the Ice-jin chikushoume. Bardock also forbears looking for Kakarott because his visions promised Kakarott would grow up into something better than the average saiyan but only if he is left to his carefree innocent life. - Radditz vs. Goku, dragonballs, Vegeta's fight.
* When Radditz goes to find Kakarott the rebels get a tap on his transmission back to Vegeta therefore Bardock finds out about the fight between his two sons. Not long after he hears about Vegeta's disappearance after destroying Arlia.
A year later information of Vegeta's appearance at an outlying base severely injured comes through but by this point there's bigger fish to fry - Frieza has heard about the Namekian dragonballs & is heading to use them. - Landing, Bulma, death, resurrection SSJ Ouji, wished away.
* Bardock heads to Namek knowing that he may be able to kill Frieza but it will cost him his life. When he lands he finds the rebellion's mole in Frieza's service badly injured & unable to drag himself from a spot halfway out of the water of a lake - Zarbon.
Zarbon tells Bardock that Vegeta has turned against Frieza & has stolen the dragonballs. Bardock gets Zarbon to his pod & sets the pod to automatically take Zarbon to the nearest rebel base.
Bardock heads out but along the way runs into a loudmouth blue-haired young woman who insists he looks like her friend 'Goku'. Conversation reveals Goku is Bardock's son Kakarott.
Elsewhere Porunga is summoned, Piccolo is wished to life & then to Namek, the third wish is lost before it can be granted, Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin & Dende are left facing a peeved Frieza later to be joined by a powered-up Piccolo (thanks to Nail). Vegeta dies but not before one last word to a newly healed Goku.
Goku, Gohan, Piccolo & Krillin fight Frieza, Krillin is killed, Goku turns Super Saiyan, Gohan is sent away with an injured Piccolo.
On his way to Goku's capsule Gohan runs into Bardock & Bulma. He gets an earful from Bulma about abandoning her but also gets his first chance to meet his paternal grandfather.
On Earth a wish is make that resurrects everyone killed by Frieza. This includes Vegeta. Vegeta comes back different though, he comes back a Super Saiyan.
Goku senses the flare of power & recognises it. He interrupts the last wish & requests an alteration. The last wish is made, everyone is wished to Earth everyone except Frieza, Goku & Vegeta.
Goku & Vegeta fight Frieza together, Goku, honouring Vegeta's prior history with the Ice-jin lets him take to final blast.
There is a race to find a ship for them to escape in & before King Kai can ascertain whether they got away the planet explodes. - Missing SSjs, getting to know grandson, brotherly trouble, where is Kakarott?
* Bardock, stuck on Earth stays at Capsule Corp. While waiting for the Namekian dragonballs to recharge he has time to get to know his grandson, his daughter-in-law & his son's human friends.
When the dragonballs are recharged Bulma sets to work wishing back dead friends. It is discovered that Goku is alive & refuses to return to Earth. A second lot of wishes are made three months later & the Nameks leave Earth for a new homeworld.
Two troublesome incidents happen during the next year-&-a-half, Garlic Jr, an immortal creature out to dethrone Kami makes a try to do just that - dethrone Kami. He is beaten in a combined effort by Gohan, Krillin & Piccolo. Bardock had been training not long before Garlic let loose the Blackwater mist & had been injured & unconscious while the events happened. To say the least he was unimpressed to miss out on taking a strike at someone who would want to hurt his grandson.
The second event is the propagation of the Tree of Might. Bardock was rather pissed at seeing the culprit is his bratty younger brother Turles. Bardock is forced to turn Super to destroy the Tree, Shen Lon is called to restore the damage the Tree caused.
Turles comes through alive & a pair of ki-suppressing cuffs are put to use on him until a ship can be readied so Bardock can drag him off-world.
Bardock takes his brother to some of his rebel compatriots & while in space does some investigating in an attempt to find Goku. He finds absolutely no information about either Goku or Vegeta after Namek but he does come across news that Frieza is alive & wants revenge against the 'monkeys' he fought on Namek. Bardock immediately heads back to Earth. - Frieza's Counterattack, mystery kid, Goku & Veg back, Toma, Androids, heart disease, tricks & Roshi's sunnies.
* Bardock gets back to Earth just in time, all the Z warriors gather to face Frieza, again Bardock thinks he's going to have to kamikaze to kill Frieza. Lucky for him & them all someone else gets to Frieza & his father, Cold, first.
The fight itself is only seen from afar but afterwards it turns out their saviour is a teenage boy with short cropped navy blue hair wearing sunnies. The boy says Goku is due to arrive in three hours but is wary of answering any personal questions.
In the proscribed three hours two space pods enter the atmosphere & land not far from where everyone is waiting. They, of course, contain Goku & Vegeta. Everyone's a little jumpy about Vegeta but are distracted when the kid pulls Goku off to chat.
The kid is in fact one Toma Briefs, Goku's as yet unborn half-brother, son of Bardock & Bulma. *Flinches* Toma warns Goku of a pair of killer androids due to appear in three years time. Goku is going to contract a heart virus & die, Vegeta mysteriously dies for no apparent reason as well, all the Z warriors will die facing the androids except Gohan who was given enough time to escape when Bardock holds off the androids turning SSj & dying as a result.
Toma's world is a hellhole where everyone is living in terror. Gohan was lost a few years prior & Toma was not strong enough against the androids so he came through time hoping to change fate.
After the news of what Toma has said is relayed to the others Goku explains that he & Vegeta managed to get off Namek just as the planet was exploding but they did have to cram into the one pod. Said pod did not get away from the exploding Namek unscathed, a collision with debris damaged the navigation system leaving the pod with only basic nav functions but these were enough to get the pod to the not too distant planet Yardrat.
Both Goku & Vegeta agreed that time was needed to learn how to control their super saiyan abilities. While on Yardrat the natives also taught them their Shouken Idou (Instant Transmission - I like the Japanese name ;)) technique.
When both saiyans felt confidant of their control of their super saiyan powers & of their command of the Shouken Idou they departed Yardrat in the somewhat repaired pod. They stopped at one of Frieza's bases where Vegeta had comrades, looking to acquire two properly working pods but while there hear of Frieza's survival of Namek & his vengeful mission to Earth. The saiyans headed to Earth as fast as they could but were still behind Cold's ship. They were going to teleport the rest of the way but sensed someone else fighting the Ice-jin.
Goku's little show-off of the Shouken Idou technique went down pretty well with most - Train, train, train & train some more, blowing up GRs, why do Goku & Veg always go off alone to spar?
- Baby Toma, Chichi's plot, Triple Moon bond-mated.
- Day of the Androids, Goku felled, Vegeta worried, Gero, Mirai Toma returned.
- Chase Gero, 17 & 18 & 16 released, fight, fall, beaten.
- Move Goku, Gingertown weirdness, Kamiccolo vs. Cell, a second time-capsule?
- Ugly giant cicada shells Toma! What about the HTC? Bardock & Toma go train.
- Androids find Kame Island, Fight the androids, keep 'em away from Cell.
- Bardock & Toma released, fight Cell, Vegeta joins, Cell gets 17.
- Goku wakes, takes Gohan to HTC, Bardock fights Cell - almost kills himself, Toma fights Cell, 16 & 18 get away.
- Find 18 before Cell, Krillin goes for controller, Cell destroying islands.
- Vegeta fights Cell, gets pulped, Bardock fights Cell, puts his life at risk again by going SSJ, Krillin finds 18, doesn't use controller, Cell gets 18, Toma fights Perfect Cell, gets battered, Cell intrigued by Toma's power, declares Games.
- Everyone gathers at CC, Cell's announcement, Goku & Gohan released from HTC, Piccolo enters.
- Goku enters HTC with Vegeta (O.o, hentai thoughts).
- Happy times, bond-mates can be together (more), family stress, Chichi's pregnant (did this girl plan that assault well or not?).
- Toma returns to HTC.
- Royal army tries to destroy Cell, Goku gets new guardian Dende, Goku & Veg go dragonball hunting (more hentai thoughts).
- Cell Games. Hercule the comic relief, Goku vs. Cell, Goku's still not quite over the after affects of the heart virus, bows out of his fight, Gohan vs. Cell, Cell beats Gohan up badly, sets Cell Jrs on everyone else, Gohan goes SSj2, destroys Cell Jrs, Goku steps in, teleports self-destructing Cell away, Vegeta teleports after Goku.
- Cell reappears, shoots Toma, Bardock goes nuts, ends up killing himself turning SSj in his fury over Toma, Gohan goes really mad, kamehameha stand-off, scales tipped by surprise blasts from above, guess who! Vegeta & Goku! Cell's destroyed.
- Everyone retreats to the Lookout, Shen-Lon summoned, everyone killed because of Cell is brought back to life, Toma & Bardock restored, second wish Krillin takes to wish android's bombs away.
- Everyone head off, saiyans go back to CC, Mirai Toma heads home to his timeline, beats up Androids & Cell there.
- Afterdrama: Goku's divorce, custody battle, Gohan & unborn child (Goten!) end up in Bardock's custody, Goku & Vegeta find somewhere quiet in the wilderness to set up a capsule house, regular visits from Bardock, Gohan, Babies Toma & Goten.
- One final surprise: Bardock's family line are child-baring males, so is the royal line, DOUBLE MPREG!!!!! *Snigger*
