I have a vague idea about the Southern Kingdom (the Gondor expy located in the south-east of the northern continent, on the slopes of the Sunset Mountains guarding the northern end of the land-bridge - also still nameless, I need to work on names) and the thoughts are that the Kingdom has connections in it's founding to Hópa Elenna and the Veríotornassë tribe, and also to Losá.

The vague idea is that the kingdom gained it's place in the first of the Fae Wars, when the Unseelie tried attacking the north a couple hundred years after Nightfall. Now the history of the Nightlands spans 10,000 years, so it has a huge history, but it is also a land inhabited by immortals (the Quendár) and races with lifespans that can range from as small as 100 years (Edan/Men/humans) to as long as 5000 (Great Wyrms/Large Dragons), with the Kessír (Middle Elves) having 1000 years lifespans.

Now to reiterate the background for Hópa Elenna, a human tribe originating from the north-eastern Khazad Mountains (so on the Sunrise side of the Sunset Mountains, prior to Nightfall and the Uplift) had migrated west to avoid the Sun Empire who they honestly did not have the power to fight. In their own language they called themselves the "Bold Brotherhood". They were looking for a region with mountains, preferably also with geothermal features, particularly hot-springs, and were crossing the sub-arctic part of the north, seeking the western mountains on the coast, as they had been previously told they might find what they seek there. Along the way they would meet a group of Ninquë Kessír (White Elves - near-albino Kessír who favour living in arctic conditions) who had in their company a Quendár woman seeking to head further south than the Ninquë cared, so she joined the Brotherhood and traveled with them.

They would eventually settle at the lower end of the mountains, in a large sea cavern, the Quendár woman, Losá, in fact one of the Three Sisters, would end up marrying a man of the tribe. Through her contact was gained with other Quendár, gradually expanding Hópa Elenna's population with other migrants searching for a place to live, until the harbour became a thriving port city of mixed Quendár, Kessír and Edan population.

But when the Unseelie set to try and gain ground in the north, it needed as many magically powerful defenders to fight them off, including Losá, her children, and the Eldarion - mortal descendants of a son of hers who had unwisely married an Edan woman - who had come to be a highly respected part of the Veríotornassë people for being the mortal descendants of their immortal leaders.

Now going into the vague ideas I mentioned, I have a faint outline of the idea that this war was mostly waged in the south-eastern corner of the Northern Nightlands, and the end result was that the humans who made up quite a large proportion of the army chose to claim that land and establish a nation there to watch the path coming up from the south. Some of those who decided to stay there were people originally from Hópa Elenna, including some Veríotornassë wanting to start something new away from the old tribe.

Now the important detail in this is the idea that amongst them would be some Eldarion as well, who ended up in leadership roles and become the roots of what would eventually become the royal family of the Southern Kingdom.

So the trail of ancestry is long, but the South Kingdom's royal family and by extension, quite a bit if not all it's nobility would have a trace of Eldarion ancestry in them.

As a side note, Losá's youngest son could have moved south as early as this, coming along with the Eldarion fighting in this war and deciding to stay so as to give this group a link by leading the initial set-up of a Gate Hub. This means he has been living in the south for most of his life and has seen most of the Kingdom's history as well.

In unconnected notes, "Khazâd-Azhâr" is the name of the Dwarven capital city that Arélenimbë is linked to.

Also "Fairië" is a word derived from the Quendár language that means a mix of "free" and "spirit". It is a name that the term "Fae" derives from and is the name given to them by the Seelie Queen when she first gain dominion over them.

................................................................

So yep, thoughts happened. They centre around how Losá's youngest son ended up residing there. It also expands his issues about relationships with mortals.

The basic idea is that he becomes friends with a young Eldarion warrior and they become war-brothers during the conflict, and in the end the Edan who come through to the end of the war decide they want him as king. Losá's son chooses to stay in the south help him settle into that role. however the relationship turns romantic between them, but the king needs to get married, but the young woman he ends up marrying is canny enough to work out something is going on between them and turns it into a threesome arrangement. This ends up going as far as her second child, a daughter, being the child of Losá's son instead of the king, but it is not readily evident because she takes after her mother.

But the fact that this family, including the daughter, are all mortal is, despite him knowing that they will grow old and die, painful for him, and while he swears to watch over both the royal family and his daughter's family, he swears off any relationships with mortals in the future.

In another aside thought, the sex education of both Losá and Elossí's child was supplied by the Seelie Fae. The practical sex education. It's a side effect of who their grandmother is.
This may or may not have caused a few arguments between Elossí, Losá and their mother, over propriety of giving their children "body servants". (Mind you, this only happened after the kids hit adulthood, because even the Queen is not going to allow such education too young.)

Also this little aside has brought to mind a line of thinking of the self-destructive path Losá's son step onto after the death of his daughter. It directly relates to body-servants and him throwing himself into excessive sex to stave off his grief. Of course at some point his grandmother has to step in and pull him out of it, pushing him into properly expressing his grief, which culminates with him swearing that he will not get romantically involved with mortals ever again.

So the general idea of the romantic history of Losá's son - who I am finally considering naming something like Ammárussélaurë, which as I see it in text is bloody long, so I may drop the "Ammá-", but I also want a fathername for hime that is far more Edan, to match that his father's name is Tirin. A quick look at a baby name website and I like Damion, but I want to consider spelling variation - my mind wandered further... and ended up in foursome territory. Who with? With the unnamed protagonists of my other porn scenario involving sex pollen.

Also on names, I am tentatively considering Jarren and Avalië.

Now some of the issues I see in this is that they are humans, so they should be mortal, but I vague ideas of thoughts that because of the sex pollen incident, they are kind-of halfway to being Fae and that may come with a measure of extension on their lifespans. Damián's fae girlfriend also has very little problem with sharing him with someone she is willing to trust, which is part because she decides she likes them and partly because Fae sexual mores are very... free.

I am still thinking on this.

................................................................

So I have thought out the final part of this and I'm surprised I hadn't put it here.

So the solution comes about because Serána - Damián's fae girlfriend - decides that he needs Jarren and Avalië. She is of the thought that as much as she likes being with Damián, she remains too fae to really be what he needs and sees in his reaction to the two adventurers the seeds of what would really do him good. However knowing about his issues with getting close to mortals, she seeks advice, going not to the Queen, but to the Diamond Dragon, who she has viewed as a third parent.
The Diamond Dragon offers the only solution it knows and orders Serána to bring the two to it, when she may.

It actually takes a few month before she can act, but Serána is able to step in on a situation that Jarren and Avalië end up in on a mission. Giving them a quick getaway via the Fae Realms, Serána is able to persuade them to come with her to the Dragon's Lair while they are staying in Queen's Domain. There the Diamond Dragon makes an arcane bond with the two of them, binding them to it so they will be something akin to avatars of it, and as such, they will live for as long as they remain bonded to it, which could easily be forever.

Serána sends them home, happy to know she has found something to truly soothe Damián's heart.
