Nightlands: The Floating Mountains
Locations where one can find floating stones is not actually all that uncommon in the Nightlands. It ususally manifests in spots where there is a pretty strong arcane fountain, and usually a substantial amount of arcane crystal. The Great Crystal is one such place, Starfall Valley has small floating crystals around it as well.
The Floating moutains are more on the Great Crystal end of the scale, due to the size, but with a bit of Starfall's groups of a number of such floaters drifting around gently.
There are two major locations of floating mountains, one in the far icy north, in the southern crook of the last westward arm range before the Great Ice of the north. Being on the southern side, it is sheltered from the worst of the northern winds, though since it is far inland, the sea winds do not reach quite that far in, so it is still quite chilly.
The mountains have a notable population of winged Kessir, pegasi, two bonded pairs of phoenixes, mountain drakes (a dragon-kin, not considered to be true dragons, but often believed to contain dragon souls), and a lot of other winged creatures.
It is a wild land that is difficult to travel through as the ground is very rugged and treacherous, and to reach the communities existng on the larger floating mountains, one has to fly or be able to portal in.

The southern floating mountains are in a risky spot as they are in the southern quadrant of the Morin Empire's area of control. However similar to the northern mountains, the ground is rough and treacherous and makes it difficult to get anywhere when a path can suddenly stop at a 1000 feet shear drop.
The residents of the area are, similar to the north, dominated by those able to fly, but the area is also noted for hosting a few major havens in the south for groups the Morin would like to wipe out, but have never been able to get to.
The outer inhabited mountains serve as lookout for the ones further in, guarding the way, and practically all of them maintain wards and shielding to prevent unwanted visitations from teleporters and portals.
There is likely also one of the Elimbe further up into the Sunset Mountains that is allied with the Floaters, more than likely maintaining a mini network of Quendar Gateways across the larger mountain towns.

MCU Fusion: The Nightlands Kamar-Taj is located on one of the larger floating mountains in the southern range. Newcomers can only enter through the Sanctums, located in major cities elsewhere in the Nightlands, or from trusted Quendar contacts. The temple's security is akin to the southern Elimber that way, but with the bonus of having no way on foot to approach.
